Another Wils Win brings Title Close

It was Jelle Wils back atop the podium after Saturday’s race at Monza in Round 8 of the Prodigy Racing Association Sports Car Series. This was Jelle’s second win of the series and sees him pull ahead in the GT3 Drivers and overall Drivers Championship.

Much of his race was spent dueling Kerry Corcoran, but Jelle pulled ahead in the closing stages before the final pit stop solidified the results.

Meanwhile, Rodney Roberts took P2 in the LMP2 category, staying within touching distance of Marlowe Duncan at the top of the field. Duncan has three wins and six poles this season but Rodney only trails by 12 points.

In the overall Team Championship, Aculeus Racing holds a 263-point lead over Kerb Munchers in second, and an insurmountable 405-point lead over Team Hypersport in third.

It’s still all to play for - for individual and team honors - as the series heads to the Red Bull Ring for Round 9 before returning to the United States for the finale at Road Atlanta.

QUOTE

Daniel Borgertpoepping, Team Owner

“I can’t say enough about the driving we’re seeing from our team in the PRA Sports Car Series. They’re smooth, they’re taking car of the cars, and they’re executing strategies extremely nicely. Huge congratulations to Jelle for his second win on the season, he was magnificent. And the reason we’re so far ahead in the team championship and only a dozen points back from first in the LMP2 class is because of Rodney’s ability to maximize what’s on offer and deliver those points hauls.

I love winning and we’re in position to do exactly that if we execute well in these last two races.”
