Aculeus Racing Finishes P24 at Spa 24h

Aculeus Racing recovered from early disaster to cross the line in P26 at the Spa 24H race. Post-race disqualifications for the first and second place finishers moved the team up to P24 in the official results.

It was disaster early for the #31 Scorpion. A mistake in car setup meant the Aculeus Racing McLaren started with a qualifying fuel load, requiring an early pit stop. Multiple excursions off track had the team near the very back of the field.

But, as has become the story of this team, the recovery was swift and they started climbing the order, making numerous overtakes on track, staying out of trouble, and picking off more than 30 cars to finish in P24.

Kallum Williams completed the most laps at 168, while Aaron Fontaine and Jack Vincent-Spall each contributed 145. Rodney Roberts drove 138 laps.

Aculeus Racing will return to the track this weekend for the 6 Hours of Road America.

QUOTES

Daniel Borgertpoepping, Team Owner

“This wasn’t our best race as a team but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be proud of the fight the team showed. Mistakes happen and some phases of a race bring more trouble than you’d like. A less experienced team would have gotten frustrated and made a critical error that ends their race. This team is supportive of each other and that pays dividends out on track.”
