Porsche “Scorpion” Delivers P8 at 6 Hours of Road America

Kallum Williams and Jack Vincent-Spall finished P8 in the early slot at the 6 Hours of Road America this weekend.

Struggles in qualifying left the two without a lap on the board but an incredible recovery drive brought them back into P9 on the final lap, before Kallum got past the Wolf Motorsport Mercedes under the white flag.

The Aculeus Racing Porsche “Scorpion” was strong around the track, though both drivers noticed significant deficiencies in the torturous Carousel. Losses in that section were largely mitigated by the braking and cornering advantages of the Porsche elsewhere around the lap.

Kallum set the team’s fastest lap with a 2:05.535, but Jack was only two-tenths behind with a 2:05.559.

QUOTES

Daniel Borgertpoepping, Team Owner

“I always know that when Kallum and Jack get together for these events, there’s going to be some serious pace on offer and today was no different. The snafus in qualifying happen, but in a six-hour race, the damage can be limited heavily by putting together a great race and that’s what they did.”
